About the Programme

Strengthening Systems — Connecting Evidence to Action.

SDG Bridge Africa's Governance, Data & Partnerships Programme works with governments, public institutions, development partners, NGOs, CSOs, businesses, academia, researchers and professionals to strengthen institutional performance and advance evidence-informed development.

The programme brings together governance, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL), evaluations, research, data, technology and partnerships to strengthen systems, generate credible evidence and translate knowledge into action.

A key ambition of the programme is to contribute to a stronger data ecosystem for sustainable development, including the development of an SDG Data Hub for Uganda to improve access to and use of data on SDG indicators.

Our work contributes to stronger institutions and accelerated progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

What We Do

Three areas of practice, one connected programme.

From designing the systems that make institutions work, to building the skills of the people who run them, to generating the evidence that proves what works.

01

Designing & Strengthening MERL Systems

We design, review and strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning systems that enable organisations to track performance, measure results, generate evidence and learn continuously — theories of change, logic models, results frameworks, MERL plans, policies, tools, and reporting & learning systems.

Designing & Strengthening MERL Systems
02

Executive Skills-Based Training

We deliver practical, application-focused training that equips professionals and institutions with the competencies required to improve performance and make better use of evidence — monitoring, governance, quantitative & qualitative data analysis, visualisation, research, evaluations, learning and knowledge management, and digital technologies.

03

Evaluations, Research & Studies

We design and conduct rigorous evaluations, research, surveys, assessments and specialised studies that generate credible evidence for accountability, learning, policy and decision-making — baseline studies, mid-term and endline evaluations, outcome & impact evaluations, surveys and assessments.

Governance & Institutional Strengthening

Building Institutions That Deliver.

Strong institutions are fundamental to sustainable development. We support organisations to strengthen their governance structures, strategies, policies, institutional systems, accountability mechanisms and performance frameworks.

Our work helps institutions become more effective, accountable, adaptive, evidence-informed and results-oriented.

Data, analytics and visualisation planning session

Data, Analytics & Visualisation

Turning Data into Decisions.

We help institutions transform data into evidence that can inform planning, policy, programme management and organisational decision-making. Our capabilities span:

  • Programming
  • Data Collection
  • Data Management
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Qualitative Analysis
  • Data Visualisation
  • Dashboards
  • Data Quality Assurance
  • Decision-Support Products

The objective is simple: to move institutions from collecting data to using evidence.

Uganda SDG Data Hub

Making SDG Data Accessible. Visible. Useful.

The Uganda SDG Data Hub is envisioned as a platform for improving access to, visualisation and use of data and evidence on Uganda's Sustainable Development Goal indicators. Working with relevant institutions and data producers, the initiative will seek to complement existing national and international data systems while making sustainable development evidence easier to access and understand.

  • SDG Indicator TrackingFollow progress across priority indicators.
  • Data VisualisationTurn complex datasets into accessible visual information.
  • Research & AnalysisGenerate insights from development data and evidence.
  • Knowledge & LearningConnect data with research, policy and practice.
  • Evidence-Informed DecisionsSupport policymakers, practitioners, researchers and other stakeholders to use evidence more effectively.
Digital and technological solutions working session

Digital & Technological Solutions

Technology That Strengthens Performance.

We develop and apply appropriate digital solutions to strengthen MERL, research, governance, data management and institutional performance. Our work includes:

  • Digital Data Collection
  • Databases
  • Dashboards
  • Automated Reporting
  • Digital MERL Platforms
  • Management Information Systems
  • Data Automation

Technology is most valuable when it solves an institutional problem. Our focus is therefore on practical, usable and sustainable solutions.

  • Strategic Partnerships
  • Policy Dialogue
  • Multi-Stakeholder Engagement
  • Research Partnerships
  • Knowledge Exchange
  • Public–Private Collaboration
